On July 29, 2024, THRDC had the honor of welcoming Ms. Yvonne Runga, East and Southern African Regional Director of Save the Children International (SCI), alongside SCI Tanzania Country Director Ms. Angela Kauleni and other senior officers Mr. Anatory Rugamukwa; Ms. Mariana Kavishe from SCI Tanzania Office.

Their visit aimed to explore how SCI’s localization models  are being implemented by the CSOs capacity strengthening program partners of which THRDC is a partner leading on the Civic space program area. Over the past three years, THRDC has been driving the SIDA-CSOs Civic Space project, creating an enabling environment for Human Rights Defenders (HRDs) to protect and promote child rights. A key achievement of this program has been the establishment of the Tanzania Child Human Rights Defenders platform, empowering children to safeguard their own rights.

From THRDC, our National Coordinator Adv. Onesmo Olengurumwa; Program Manager Mr. Remmy Lema; Advocacy Officer Adv. Nuru Maro; and Head of Institutional Building Ms. Ester Kessy participated in this meeting.
