The Tanzania Human Rights Defenders Coalition (THRDC) has signed a grant agreement with the Civil Rights Defenders worth USD 31,565.59 equivalent to Tanzanian shillings 82,000,000 million to support THRDC overall strategic plan and operations. The implementation of this funding agreement commenced on 01st March 2026 and will continue until 31st December 2026 The support will enable THRDC to continue implementing its Strategic Plan activities, particularly the provision of legal, emergency, and advocacy support to Human Rights Defenders (HRDs) at risk. It will also strengthen the capacity and resilience of HRDs and CSOs, promote stakeholder engagement, and enhance THRDC’s institutional sustainability and effectiveness in advancing and protecting human rights in Tanzania. THRDC is grateful for this generous support to the work of HRDS in Tanzania. We look forward to seeing an improved working environment for promotion and protection of Human Rights across Tanzania.
