THRDC received a courtesy visit of Ms. Ashley T. Inman, a Political Officer from the Embassy of the United States of America

Today July 12, 2024 Tanzania Human Rights Defenders Coalition (THRDC) received a courtesy visit of Ms. Ashley T. Inman, a Political Officer from the Embassy of the United States of America, accompanied by Ms. Bahati Mhavile, POL/ECON Section.

The aim of the courtesy visit was to discus about the situation of human rights defenders in Tanzania with the focus on issues of human rights, rule of law, democracy, freedom of expression and incidents facing HRDs in Tanzania. We further discussed among other things on interventions by THRDC and the US Embassy on the promotion and protection of HRDs in the country.

THRDC highly appreciates and extends heartfelt gratitude to the US Embassy for the continued support in the promotion and protection of human rights defenders in Tanzania. The today's courtesy visit provided us with a unique opportunity to discuss recents incidents of HRDs and strengthen the bonds of cooperation between THRDC and the Embassy. We deeply value the insights and perspectives shared during our discussions.
