THRDC JOINED COMMONWEALTH LAW MINISTERS MEETING CLOSING WITH FOCUS ON TECHNOLOGY AND ACCESS TO JUSTICE

Today 08 March 2023, THRDC was honored to participate in the closing of the biennial Commonwealth Law Ministers Meeting (CLMM) officiated by H.E Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi President of Zanzibar at Golden Tulip Airport Hotel.

The five-day CLMM meeting focused on the theme ‘Technology and Innovation: How digitalisation paves the way for the development of people-centred access to justice.

The opening of the meeting last Monday was graced by President Samia Suluhu Hassan who emphasized on the use of technology to improve access to justice in commonwealth member countries.

During the five-Day meeting, law ministers and attorneys-general from across 56 Commonwealth countries discussed recent legal developments in their jurisdictions and explored responses to emerging justice issues affecting their citizens.

THRDC sustains its initiatives on examining responsible ways to improve access to justice including supporting Judiciary Sector Reforms both Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar to enhance access to justice. We hope that the outcome of the meeting will advance mandates from Commonwealth Heads of Government Meetings.
