The Tanzania Human Rights Defenders Coalition (THRDC) has signed a three -year agreement worth $750,000 (1.6 billion Tanzanian Shillings) with King Baudouin Foundation United States (KBFUS) based in United States to support the Coalition’s Strategic Plan to safeguard and defend Human Rights Defenders (HRDs) in Tanzania.
The agreement was officially signed on 25/11/2021, and its implementation will commence earlier this year and run until October 2023. The funds will be used to facilitate protection works of HRDs and implement THRDC strategic activities.
This project is expected to promote and strengthen human rights defenders’ works in Tanzania, including fortifying their relationship with government institutions.
